It’s easy to become apathetic (someone else will take care of it), tempting to only think short-term (what bills do I have to pay this month?), and almost impossible not to be distracted by the day-to-day (hey, what’s for dinner?). But the world needs us now. We can’t wait any longer. I see it like triage. There are many, many causes worthy of our attention, but without a habitable planet, what’s the point?

On Saturday, September 8th, thousands will march in San Francisco for the largest climate march the West Coast has ever seen. Together we will Rise for Climate, Jobs & Justice as part of a global day of action to demand our elected leaders commit to no new fossil fuels and a just and fair transition to 100% renewable energy.

We need all hands on deck! Here are three simple steps to take action:

1. See details and let them know you are coming on the RSVP page. (Get inspired by taking a peek at the Global Map of Actions at the top of the page!)

2. Avoid the drive and painful search for parking! Buy a sliding-scale ticket (BEFORE Sept 5th!) for a chartered bus ride from Sonoma County to SF and back. There will be a pickup at the Fairgrounds in Petaluma, as well as other locations in Sonoma and Marin. (If traveling with a family or group, be sure to fill in a “group name” such as “Jane Smith family of 4” or “WORK Petaluma” in the checkout so you end up on the same bus.)

3. Join the sign making party hosted by WORK and 350Petaluma on Thursday, September 6th from 5-7 PM in the WORK courtyard. (RSVP to me so we have a rough idea how many supplies we should buy.)

I’m bringing my family and friends. I hope you do, too! Thank you for making this beautiful planet a priority,

Natasha
