christine walkerChristine Walker – The Design Guild – expanding the reach of good design – As Co-Founder and Managing Director, Christine will tell us the story of how this group of local professionals, rooted in the shared ideal that better design can shine a light on what makes a community beautiful, strong and vibrant, have found a way to extend the breadth of their work far beyond the city borders.

 

 

jonathanJonathan Lee – New Sun Road – delivering innovative decentralized energy – As Co-Founder and Head of Engineering, Jonathan will give insight into how his small team distributed around California has partnered with a team in Uganda to design and build localized community solar power systems in unelectrified rural areas. He will share lessons from working in different virtual and local environments, the enrichment and challenges that come from cross-cultural design and project management, and his perspective on what creates empowering and mutually beneficial “global impact”.
