What’s the difference between a good photo and an effective photo?

In this interactive presentation, commercial photographer (and excellent teacher) Tyler Chartier will demonstrate ways to use storytelling to drive the creative process of making images and videos that will resonate with potential clients and potential employees.

You’ll explore how to build photos that are more than just good – photos that produce results! You’ll soon be able to use the storytelling mindset to curate existing visual assets to improve outcomes from social media, website and proposals.

What is Visual Mass? Why does it screw up so many images? We’ll explore this phenomenon and learn how to harness visual mass to improve our stories.

We’ll also discuss how to add video to a still photography shoot – efficiently!

Differentiate your firm by creating visual content that will build an emotional connection with your audience.

Bio: Curious. Obsessive. Passionate. Commercial photographer by day + father by night. For work, Tyler shoots architecture, products and people for local and national companies – and he shoots almost anything for fun. Combining a passion for the process of photography with intense curiosity, Tyler helps his clients tell stories to create strong connections with their people. When he’s not telling stories with his camera, Tyler spends as much time as he can with his wife and two boys. Together they love hiking, biking, backpacking, and building things – most recently a 17′ lapstrake dory they row on the Tomales Bay.
